Vertigo Releasing (Vertigo) is a leading independent all-rights Film Distribution Company in the UK, Ireland and select international territories.


We have a reputation for crafting strong and exciting campaigns and have a unique instinct for creative and innovative release strategies. Our theatrical releases have grossed over $100 million at the UK box office and we have won multiple awards for our campaigns.


Our commitment to discovering and championing quality independent films and filmmakers is reflected in the success of our releases, such as UK titles Benediction, Boiling Point (multiple BAFTA & BIFA nominated) andCensor. As well as films like Sound of Metal , Black Bear, The Assistant, The Miseducation of Cameron Post, Death Wish, Five Feet Apart, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, How to Blow Up A Pipeline and Reality.


Vertigo is delighted to have worked with some incredible directors including the BAFTA and BIFA nominated director Philip Barantini (Boiling Point, Villain), BAFTA and BIFA winning directors Babak Anvari (Under The Shadow), Gareth Edwards (Monsters), Nicolas Winding Refn (Bronson), Thomas Napper (Jawbone) and Taika Waititi (Boy, Hunt for the Wilderpeople).


Vertigo is a dedicated supporter of female filmmakers, having released the incredible debut features of Prano Bailey-Bond (BIFA nominated for Censor), Channing Godfrey Peoples (Miss Juneteenth), Coralie Fargeat (Revenge), Marielle Heller (The Diary of a Teenage Girl), Charlotte Colbert (She Will) and Tina Satter (Reality).

Our Story

Set up in March 2014 by its CEO, Rupert Preston, Vertigo Releasing has released more than 200 films into the UK marketplace. 


In January 2020 Vertigo expanded internationally and started releasing films in Australia and New Zealand via its ongoing partnership with Rialto. We have now released over 75 films together including Honest Thief, Misfits, Replicas, Boss Level, Moonbound, Ainbo, The Assistant, Resistance, A Call to Spy and Dreambuilders and have grossed over AUD 18 million at the ANZ Box Office.


Vertigo Releasing also represents the Vertigo Films film library in the UK which includes Bronson, Horrid Henry the Movie, Streetdance 3D, Monsters and The Football Factory amongst many other cult classic titles.


In addition, Vertigo Releasing is building a library of classic films which includes such titles as Casino, Dog Soldiers, Human Traffic, Chopper and Last Orders and has over 250 library titles in total.
